CityAlert already normalizes 100+ sources into one stream — Environment Canada weather alerts, provincial emergency feeds (Sécurité civile Québec, Alberta Emergency Management, BC River Forecast flood advisories), wildfire services (BCWS, Alberta, Ontario MNRF, CWFIF), DriveBC road events, and police & municipal open data where it's published. Your residents see what's happening without checking six websites.
Geofenced resident alerts — no per-message fees
Residents draw a watch area around their home, street or workplace, pick the categories and minimum severity they care about, and get real-time emails or a daily morning digest (~8am local). Delivery is email-based and unmetered — no SMS credits, no per-resident billing.
An embeddable widget for your website
Drop a live incident summary onto your municipal site with one line of HTML — an iframe scoped to your city or region, refreshing every ~10 minutes and linking through to the full map.
Shareable dashboards for council & the EOC
Configure a view — boundary, categories, panels — and share it as a link. Council, emergency staff and the public all see the same live picture; viewers don't need accounts.
Community reports, moderated
Residents submit what they see — a washout, a smell of smoke, a blocked road. Reports are community-verified through confirm/resolve/flag voting, and a moderator override queue lets us (or you) hide anything inappropriate.
Open data built in
The same normalized feed is public infrastructure: a GeoJSON API, per-city Atom feeds and an MCP server for AI tools — free to use with attribution. Your open-data or GIS team can build on it from day one.
White-label, on your domain or ours
Every municipal plan includes a branded deployment: your municipality's name, logo and colours on a dedicated alert page scoped to your boundary — hosted on cityalert.ca, embedded on your own domain via the /embed widget, or both. Residents never need to know the platform's name unless you want them to; either way they get the same live incident stream and self-serve alert signup.
English and French: our ingestion pipeline already parses French-language official feeds and media in Québec. A fully French-language branded page is part of setup — EN, FR or bilingual, tell us what your community needs.

What CityAlert is — and isn't
- An awareness layer, not a mass-notification system. It shows residents what's happening near them, continuously — it doesn't replace Alert Ready, sirens or your SMS/phone-tree tool.
- Resident alerts are email-based today; SMS and push channels are on the roadmap, not shipped.
- In regions without incident-level official feeds, some incidents are derived from media reports and are approximate — labelled as such on the map.
- Residents are always directed to official channels — 911, Environment Canada, Alert Ready, local authorities — for emergencies.

Does CityAlert replace our mass-notification system?
No — and we don't claim to. CityAlert is an always-on awareness layer: it shows residents what's happening near them, all the time, for every category of incident. Broadcast-intrusive alerting (Alert Ready, phone trees, SMS blasts) stays with your existing tools. Most municipalities find CityAlert answers the question residents ask between emergencies — 'what's going on near me?' — at a fraction of the cost.
How fast can we launch?
If your region is already covered by our feed network, a branded page and embed widget can be stood up in days. If your area needs new feeds — a local police portal, a regional district feed — we scope that in the onboarding call.
Where does our data live?
The platform currently runs on Railway in the US West region. Canadian data residency is available on request — if residency is a procurement requirement for your municipality, tell us up front and we'll deploy accordingly. Subscriber emails are the only resident PII we store; watch areas are anonymous polygons.
Is it available in French?
Our pipeline already processes French-language official feeds and media (Sécurité civile, Ville de Québec, Radio-Canada, Journal de Québec). A fully French-language branded page is part of white-label setup — tell us if you need EN, FR or both.
