Embed it on as many pages as you like, commercial or not, at no cost. The only condition is that the “Powered by CityAlert.live” link stays visible and clickable — it is the attribution the data sources require us to pass on, and it is the only thing we ask in return. Incident data is compiled from official and community sources and is provided as-is; it is not a substitute for calling emergency services. If you need the underlying data instead of a visual widget, the developer API has GeoJSON, per-city Atom feeds, an OpenAPI spec and an MCP server.

How much does the widget cost?
Nothing. The embed is free and unmetered. Keep the “Powered by CityAlert.live” link intact and you're within the terms — that link is how we get paid for it.
Does it slow my page down?
No. It's a single iframe with loading="lazy", so the browser defers it until it's near the viewport. There is no script tag, no JavaScript library and no render-blocking request on your page.
Does it set cookies or track my readers?
No cookies are set. We count anonymous page views using a salted, rotating hash — no persistent identifier, no cross-site profile, nothing to disclose in a cookie banner.
How often does the data refresh?
About every 10 minutes. The widget re-renders itself on your page from official police, fire, emergency-management and weather feeds plus verified community reports — you never republish anything.
What happens if my region has a quiet week?
The widget says so plainly instead of rendering an empty box. Coverage depth varies by region — pick a wider time window if your area's feeds are sparse.
